About Us

Sector Skills Service Ltd was established in 2003 and is a free employment support service to assist the unemployed and those facing redundancy. The Sector Skills Service works within the communities of Hampshire and West Sussex and has helped thousands of people of all ages become job ready for employment.

People needing the assistance of the Sector Skills Service do not need to be long-term unemployed before receiving help. The Sector Skills Service can offer help from the first day of unemployment and specialise in helping those people unemployed for less than twelve months.  Jobcentre Plus customers can either contact the Sector Skills Service directly or through the local JCP Advisers.

The long-term unemployed, who are being assisted or have been assisted by the Work Programme, can also use the Sector Skills Service. When required the Sector Skills Service will liaise and work with Work Programme Advisers.

The Sector Skills Service has acquired funding to cover the costs for the unemployed to obtain mandatory training and certification for a number of industry sectors. Through strategic partnerships further financial assistance can be given to the unemployed for daily travel expenses plus the Sector Skills Service have access to an Adviser Discretionary Fund.

The Sector Skills Service prides itself on its ability to make a difference within the community by helping people be job-ready for employment in numerous industry sectors.
